“The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in mercy.” – v. 8
The Lord is gracious and merciful! I have been on vacation since Friday. Spent the weekend with friends and family. Such blessings!! I love my life and am so very grateful for what I’ve been given.
God has blessed me abundantly and yes I am grateful. Psalm 145 is the psalm for this Monday, July 9. I find it timely and relevant and have to smile.
I know that things will go wrong, that life will have struggles and challenges and even tragedy that I cannot predict at this time. But I strive to live knowing that God is in control. And even more importantly that He loves me and is indeed merciful.
His love and mercy will see me through. His strength and peace will remain with me. I have to be grateful for that knowledge even in the good times. Life is often difficult and for many it is almost always hard. How do we reconcile a life full of blessings with another’s life that seems to have few? I don’t know. But I do know that in verses 18 and 19 Scripture promises this: “The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.”
We are promised a heavenly home with the Creator where every trial and tribulation will be a vague memory, if recalled at all. Our life here is nothing in comparison to eternal life. No matter how joyful. Or how tough.
God bless us with a firm trust and complete faith in that promise.
