I was invited to be a keynote speaker this year for the Military Council of Catholic Women’s spring retreat. It is always humbling for me to speak to this group. I am so grateful to God and the women who organize these events for including me in the program. My hope and prayer is that I encourage the Military affiliated women because those who serve (in and out of uniform!) will always have a special place in my heart. And I will always pray for our Service Members and their families! You’ve got a friend in me…
I’m sharing the link to my YouTube talk that was watched at least by one region of Catholic Women of the Chapel groups this morning. I believe it will be shared with the other regions (they span the globe) during their weekend retreats later today or tomorrow.
Come, Holy Spirit!
That is always my prayer before I compose a presentation and before I begin to speak. I pray that someone in that audience will hear what God wants them to hear, that the words are inspired by the Holy Spirit so that, no matter what I say, I will do some good for someone’s life, in someone’s soul. And when that happens, ALL praise, glory, and honor are due to our Lord, our Triune God, who loves us so much and gives us every good gift in all of creation through out the ages!
It’s about 25 minutes. It’s not perfect because I’m not perfect. I’ve just got a willing heart that always tries to say “yes” to God. It’s that simple. I won’t say it’s “that easy,” because it’s a struggle to overcome our own stubborn will and then surrender to the things God wants for us. Even though it can only be good, because God is goodness itself, it is the unknown. And we humans tend to fear the unknown. But fear is not of God. So we must trust that if God is asking it of us, He will bring to fruition that which He desires. I’ve done it too many times now to believe otherwise. Praise God from Whom ALL Blessings Flow. Amen?
