The Prize

We can’t have a relationship with Jesus if we don’t love Him and understand that He loves us. And to have a relationship of love with anyone you need to spend time with them. So, read the New Testament, pray with it, and afterwards continue to pray. Prayer is just speaking to God, whether it is God the Father, Jesus the Son, or the Holy Spirit that is the love generated between the Two! Just speak, understanding that Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, wants to spend time with you now and forever. You have to commit yourself, heart, mind, and soul. God wants all of you! He does. Because He already knows all of you and loves you unconditionally and more than you can ever know anyway. He is mercy and forgiveness and He is waiting. He is calling. Once you love God that much, you understand that your daily struggles against the temptations of the world are worth it. And you learn to trust that Jesus is with you, He’s IN you, helping you to overcome. Now and in the world to come.

The song and the Scripture verse below speak of this race and the prize we win when we come to truly know and love Jesus – here and now and in that Kingdom to come! Loving Him now, knowing Him here, brings the reality of the Kingdom to your life and to the world even now. It’s amazing! It’s true. Try it. Talk to Jesus; get out a Bible and reverently read the Word of God. It’s there for the taking. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your mind to understand. Ask God to forgive you for waiting so long to meet Him or His Son. He’s already forgiven you. That’s in there, too.

1 Corinthians 9:24-25

24Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to take the prize. 25Everyone who competes in the games trains with strict discipline. They do it for a crown that is perishable, but we do it for a crown that is imperishable.
