I could not find the photo credit for this picture. It was posted 7 years ago as part of a video called “Santa’s Silent Night.” You can find it on YouTube. I just think it’s a cool photo and I wish I could find out who took it so I could give them proper credit. And I wish I knew where this scene occurred. I think it may have been Ft. Irwin in 2011, but I’m not sure. Anyway, please don’t forget about our deployed Troops and their families any time, but particularly right now.
They miss each other every day, especially during the holidays. Let’s say a prayer for them all. And if we remember the ‘reason for the season,’ the birth of our Savior, we can all have hope and find joy regardless of our situation. Santa is a nice symbol for the secular holiday, but he is not the Person we should gather around or focus on this holy day. It’s Jesus. He’s the reason we say Merry Christmas!
As someone once said, “Joy is not the absence of suffering. It’s the presence of God.” So maybe we should say “Joyful Christmas!” Let that be our prayer for one another, no matter where you and your loved ones are this year.
Love that “Joyful’ Merry Christmas … Have a blessed day
