Yup! It’s still the octave of our Easter celebration. Because some events are too momentous to be captured in just one day! So the Church continues to commemorate the world altering, life changing event of Jesus’ Resurrection.
It’s OK to still say “Happy Easter!” And I hope you will! It’s very easy to explain, as I did above, why you can still say that.
I LOVE that Easter is not just one Sunday morning trip to church, a few Easter baskets, and a brunch or dinner. Christ is risen! Alleluia! It’s got to be something we talk about and celebrate for much more than one day.
True, it is reason for joy every day. But as far as celebrating and noting it on a calendar, we can do that for 8 days and that is a very beautiful thing.
