1st Station – Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane Lord, though I pride myself on my strength and personal courage, may I always
remember to rely on Your strength, Your peace & mercy, as I undergo
the trials and challenges of this life. Give me Your wisdom and help
me to always accept Your will.
2nd Station – Jesus, Betrayed by Judas, is Arrested Lord, let me never forget the importance of loyalty. Not only do I remain loyal to my comrades-in-arms, but loyal to Your statutes and commandments which form my values and beliefs.
3rd Station – Jesus is Condemned by the Sanhedrin Lord, may the honor my service deserves be always at the forefront of my thoughts.
Make me ever mindful that my actions and my words portray who I am and
what I believe to others. May others, therefore, especially my enemies, see Christ in me.
4th Station – Jesus is Denied by Peter
Lord, help me to always remember Your Truth sets us free. Let me
experience the joy that comes with that knowledge. May my words not
only be honest, but life giving, always encouraging, never
destructive. Help me to always treat other human beings with respect,
remembering You called everything, and everyone into being.
5th Station – Jesus is Judged by Pilate Lord, fulfilling my obligations matters to those who depend on me. May my sense of duty remain strong within me at all times, whatever the circumstances. Whether I am working for others or with others, let me remain focused on the Good in my motives. And remind me that any enemy who intends to harm us because of You “would have no power over us if it had not been given them from Above.”
6th Station – Jesus is Scourged and Crowned with Thorns Lord, I ask for the gift of humility. If You remain for us, none who stand against us will prevail. Keep the fire of Your love burning in my heart to that I can endure any
hardship, any pain, bear every burden. And never boast about my abilities or successes, but give thanks that You have given me the gifts that I enjoy and share with others.
7th Station – Jesus Bears the Cross Lord, as I carry my cross, I do so for the welfare of our
Nation, the Army, and those with whom I serve – to my right and to my
left – those who serve with me in my unit. Bless us all with the
nobility of selfless service and thank You for this mission.
8th Station – Jesus is Helped by Simon the Cyrenian to Carry the Cross
Lord, I volunteered to serve my Nation, though sometimes what is asked
of me is a bigger sacrifice than I could have ever known when I raised
my right hand. May Your compassion and mercy surround me so that I may
know I can do what is asked of me, and do it with integrity and
concern for those who need my help.
9th Station – Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem Lord, as I mourn the loss of friends and loved ones may I still have the presence of mind and strength of heart to comfort those who will mourn at another time. Remind me that I can be Your hands, feet and voice for others, just as they can be for me.
10th Station – Jesus is Crucified Lord, give me Your peace, the peace that passes all understanding. Grant me Your compassion and Your wisdom so that even as I struggle with my own challenges, I will find the words and the way to be merciful and patient with others whose
needs may be greater than Mine. Your Ultimate Sacrifice for the world
will always be an example to us. Love must always motivate our actions. “There is no greater love than this: to lay down one’s life for a friend.”
11th Station – Jesus Promises His Kingdom to the Good Thief Lord, like the Good Thief may I always recognize You when You are present. Help me to see You reflected in others. And may others see You in me. Especially the ones
who aren’t looking for You.
12th Station – Jesus Speaks to His Mother and the Disciple Lord, bless me with a generous spirit. Help me to see a situation clearly and grant me the wisdom to respond in a way that is pleasing to You. May I always accomplish the mission as I know it must be done. May I rely on Your strength to encourage others.
13th Station – Jesus Dies on the Cross
Lord, none of us knows the hour of our death. None of us can add one
breath to our life. Grant me the courage only You can give to depart
this world with integrity, trusting in Your endless mercy and tender
compassion. May the certain hope that Your death brings us new, eternal life give us true peace.
14th Station – Jesus is Placed in the Tomb Lord, grant me the knowledge of what our duty is in all circumstances.
Whether in battle, at home, with strangers, or comrades, may we do
what is pleasing to You. Help us to recall that even when things seem bleak or hopeless, that this is not the end. We thank You for Your Resurrection which
wipes away Death’s sting and gives us a glorious future, eternal life with You.
Closing Prayer – Lord God, Creator of the Universe, I offer my life to You every day. Take my service to my Nation, my Army and my family, to my buddies and those I defend and receive them as a sacrifice of Praise. I live my life as an offering to You. Every bit
of work, joy, brokenness, and imperfection, as well as those actions
that make You smile, are offered up to You. And so my life becomes a
prayer. I praise You in all I do. I thank You for my awareness of Your
love. I adore You as my Lord and Savior. May this contemplation of the
Way of the Cross bring me closer to You and create a more perfect
prayer to You. I ask this in the name of the Father, Son & the Holy
Spirit. Amen.
